I notice on the LHC cryo page that the DFB45 temp is over 14 and rising fast. I guess the cryo for that is off right now.

Edit: That temp is now 17 and falling. It looks like they've fixed it.

Well.... First I ve been really busy today with other things... I have sorta watched the LHC today tho..

The current problem in interesting...

Cryo still looks for to me

http://hcc.web.cern.ch/hcc/cryo_main/dfbs/all45.php

"One of the warm compressors (1/2 of the high pressure stage) is still not working. People are in point 4 trying to repair it."

This section is getting warmer.. The more it warms up the longer it will take to cool off again...

http://hcc.web.cern.ch/hcc/cryo_main/cr ... n=Sector45

WELL.... Its really no big deal AT ALL...

Everything is so ahead of schedule and so many amazing things have happened in the last 24 hours this delay is no big deal at all...

Im going to do a web page of all the milestones and records... Im not sure I know them all..

I will have that ready shortly...

Its been a stunning 24 hours...

The LHC has gone from start up to its first physics run in 15 days... Thats a record start up time.. Ever...

A small delay is nothing...

Off I go to try and get all the things that happened into one web page...

Im still dead tired from following all the events over the last 24 hours..

I added a new item to the top of the portal "WILD WEEKEND"

If anyone knows of any other "firsts" for this weekend let me know, I will add them..

You may need to reload your browser to see the new link

Good night EmmyLou !

Cryo back by midnight CERN time.

Pretty much a power surge blew some fuses and causes some stuff to need to be rebooted.. I think.. According the the elog book

Hello everyone, and congrats for the website! (first post :P)
Indeed, this was an exciting Weekend!

I'd also like to suggest another link for the LHC section...
It would be nice if the detailed cryo status of the HCC was also available there. (ex. http://hcc.web.cern.ch/HCC/cryo_main/av ... mode=month) It is useful for some cases like this one ;)

Wavesoft:

Yes I suppose you are correct. I have a link now that is the top of that whole system
http://hcc.web.cern.ch/hcc/field.php

But you gotta know to click a sector and then click Cryo.. So yes i agree a direct link is much better..

DCWhitworth:

Well yea.. But from this start up to physics.. It was still all the same steps during this last 15 days that would have been required last year too. To get things tuned enough for first physics in that short a period was VERY impressive. You must admit..

Oh absolutely, I completely agree with you, they've made fantastic progress at fantastic speed and should be congratulated for it.

I was just pointing out, a little tongue in cheek, that if they tried to claim a record some people might disagree. But that doesn't lessen the achievement in my eyes at any rate.

From the log book

"The cryogenics seems to be recovering earlier than anticipated."

"20:58
Cryo conditions are back.
we prepaire all sectors for powering"

"ALICE solenoid reached 15000 A"

MAN thats A LOT of current...

There's a cryogenics red alert for S56 (CS ITR5). :(
