The first line of this topic was:

Does anti-gravity exist?

"The primary scientific goal of the AEgIS experiment is the direct measurement of the Earth’s gravitational acceleration g on antihydrogen."

As I've been trying to explain throughout this thread - the experiment is about the effect of gravity on antimatter - not "Anti-gravity"

I stand corrected.

I probably worded that last post a little harshly, but I'm glad I got the point across.
The experiment is still going to be one I look forward to hearing about - the main reason I'm being picky about the phrase "anti-gravity" is because it's very easy to interpret it, as I think you did previously, as being something that cannot co-exist in contact with normal gravity. The results of this experiment could help us work out why there's such an imbalance between anti-matter and matter in the universe.

:) So much interesting science to look out for - it's going to be interesting to see where things lead over the next few years

I fear the point is getting blurred by semantics. I suppose if there is a standard scientific protocol not to refer to forces with the opposite polarity as 'anti' forces then I accept your view.

A bad example provided by the press. I wonder where they get these ideas?

" Anti-matter — matter with negative gravity — has already been used in cancer treatments, some developed at CERN, but spokesman James Gillies said ELENA would focus on pure physics. "

I'm not the only one confused apparently;

And even more. Now the possibility of 'repulsive gravity' is being postulated as a replacement for Dark matter.
