COOL links
COOL links
Post cool links about the collider here. I will be gather these will be making a page just for cool links for the portal.
Im talkin cool links NOT associated with CERN..
Like

Or

Anything interesting that would be cool for a LHCPortal browser..

Re: COOL links
US/LHC blog.
http://www.uslhc.us/
Scientist from US Universities working on the LHC. They mainly work on the Experiments so don't answer too many questions on the collider it self.
Interactions
http://www.interactions.org/cms/
Particle Physics News and Resources
Quantum Diaries
http://www.quantumdiaries.org/
More blogging Physicists.
Perimeter Institute
http://www.perimeterinstitute.ca/
Pi was started by Mike Lazaridis of Blackberry fame. Lots of good video lectures here;
http://www.perimeterinstitute.ca/Outrea ... _Lectures/
And a bunch more but I'll leave space for you all.

Re: COOL links
One more pops to mind.
This Spanish school teacher has a very cool LHC web page.
http://www.lhc-closer.es/index.html
Explains it all quite well.

Re: COOL links
One of my all-time favorites (Garrett Lisi looking at particle physics without equations and still be able to find beautiful structures):
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/garre ... thing.html
From the same website Brian Cox (if you want some cue's on Higgs and how particle physics relates to cosmology and understanding the evolution of the universe:
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/brian ... lider.html
and of course also Brian Greene (on String Theory and extra dimensions and how the LHC might indicate the existence of extra dimension):
http://www.ted.com/talks/brian_greene_o ... heory.html
For the relation between dark matter and dark energy in the universe and particle physics:
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/patri ... nergy.html

Re: COOL links
This one should set a few minds at rest -

Even better if you view the source, a few amusing things there.

Re: COOL links
Wow, a knight avatar...
I think the knights were very smart people, they invented the linear collider
and even made a lot of self-experimentation with it
Joerg.

Re: COOL links
Am I the only one who thinks Brian Cox looks like a young musician?
