Overnight Problems?

Post by Danny252 » Wed Nov 25, 2009 7:28 pm

Earlier Page 1 was talking about cryo problems, and a few of the logbooks mention cryo problems and a "difficult recovery overnight". Looking at the magnet temperatures, there is a new spike (there's been one quite high for a while now). Did something interesting happen?

You should subscribe to the google group... I send fairly live updates..

Yes something happened. Nothing major. The PS accelerator has a vacuum leak. There are 3 stages of acceleration, in 3 different accelerators, before the protons reach the the LHC to be super accelerated.

Stage 2 has a issue. Its a accelerator that has been around a long time.

They will have it fixed shortly.

Problems are to be expected and are NORMAL and planned for. Its all fixable. There will be more problems, expect them. They will also get fixed, expect it. Its all part of the plan.

Things are still WAY ahead of schedule and I think higher powers will come quite shortly with higher power collisions very shortly after that.

Subscribe to the google group... I do updates quite often.

I'll go hunting for that group right now, and thanks for the info (as well as... everything here, I guess!)
