Do u remember the text-to-speech system in the CERN control center??
Sadly we cant have that. BUT it inspired me write a simmilar programm.

LSIS - The LHC status information service

LSIS gives a voice notification when any of the status changes defined in the configuration file are observed. This enables a notification service for the LHC system as seen on the OP Vistars (http://op-webtools.web.cern.ch/op-webto ... istars.php).

Downloadlink:
outdated
(extract before running the LSIS.jar file!!)

Bug reports and further suggestions are welcome.

Looks like a very nice little program. Easy to extend/tweak.
I'll have a proper poke around at the weekend.

After many weeks working on the project a new version can now be found at http://cern-watcher.org/LSIS. It features a completely new voice and 286 predefined events.

I hope u like it

Everyone who uses the LHC announcer as well as LSIS will get a lot of duplicate announcements. In order to avoid this a new LSIS config file will be made available soon.
