Re: ** Current Events and discussion **
There was a minor event wednesday, where the new Quench Protection System (nQPS) was a bit too quick deciding to quickly stop 50 magnets by heating them.
The results were so drastic that you can even see in on the temp graph of S78 http://hcc.web.cern.ch/HCC/cryo_main/cr ... §or=78 (this will vanish in a week from this post).
This is not a real problem, more an annoyance.
Effects for what I understand now are:

- beam postponed till Friday
- max energy 1 TeV until further notice

Better over for we all saw what happened, given what existed then, when it was under protetive.
Re: ** Current Events and discussion **
over = LHC never starts
under = LHC fails
So I guess we need them "just right".

Well there is an area of acceptable tolerance, it's just a matter of defining it.Kasuha wrote:over = LHC never starts
