Some of these guys have waited 20 years, might as well let it evolve naturally rather than break it, its only gunna be harder to fund new projects if they cant show they can run it without additional cash injections every year, (another accident would eat into the budget too much as spares are sparse).

I think they'll be able to show enough progress at 3.5TeV to keep everyone happy until repairs can be effected.

Sure they will collect enough data to keep everyone bussy. Maybe they cannot even evalute all during the time of shutdown.

Filed and cryostatus show all but one tyny segment green now.

Today all Sectors and subsectors show the Cryostatus "green" and all sectors but 2 are alreay in powerupphase2.

That's changed in the last few hours. THere was still red showing when I looked at it this morning.

maybe the cryostatus of some parts will change back and forth, but the PO2 usually stays once it is reached for one sector.

So the date we're looking for is not longer February 20th, it's later. I wonder if they'll try to hide accidental collisions from the press, so the excitement won't be ruined.

Yes, they were. And it was the hurry that cause the horrible explosion in the first place. I am glad there are a bit more careful now. It would be a waste to break it again...
