Its not confirmed yet...

But they may have snuck in some 2.36TeV collisions !!!!!!

It is confirmed they did 1.18TeV beams...

I love it

Might have been by accident and a experiment picked it up

There is good reason to believe collisions occurred.. No reason to doubt..

No official news yet tho..

Man you just gotta love this kinda stuff... Just when you least expect it...

just curious but the atlas, alice, cms and co were on standby, does this mena that it wasnt possible or sometimes do ya reckon they dont allow updates to this to keep it a lil secret ? :)

OK, sceptic here ;)

Beam 1 was lost pretty soon after they hit 1.18 TeV, make the possiblity of collisons low I think. I hope I'm wrong though.

I'm wrong, I'm very wrong. And I'm very glad I am wrong.

Wow - good spot Chris and way to go LHC guys !

It was hilarious.. A group of us were watching the ramping LIVE and chatting in IRC at the time covering the ramping...

We had NO idea collsions would occur... Looking back OF COURSE they could occur...

Suddenly there was rumor... Then OMG... Some stunned silence in chat... Then WOW we completely missed it..

Mind you we were using 5 computers and 6 computers at a time with all the displays / logs showing.

It was quite funny...

I think our chance to catch it was via the brand new LHCb near real time event display. But we were not watching, it was a new thing... I am now tho !!!!
