TeV collisions on friday night?

Post by mgdn500 » Tue Dec 08, 2009 2:58 pm

It looks from the schedule info on the **progress** link that there are ramp tests and baem optics setup scheduled for thurs/fri

There are 450GeV collisions in red scheduled for tomorrow and then...

following the ramping to 1.1TeV there are just "collisions" for friday night!
does this mean collisions at 1.1TeV?! Maybe...

Yes I as mentioned in the viewtopic.php?f=3&t=150&start=0 thread... I think they are going to be sneaky with the public and hence the generic "collisions" with no energy listed.

If you click on "latest news," the Friday night collisions are just high intensity 450 Gev collisions according to that one. I know the original plan was to get 3 short shifts of 1.1 Tev collisions if they were lucky.
By the way, when does their Christmas break start?
