5% loss on rampup?
5% loss on rampup?
During rampup, I've noticed that the beam currents reduce by around 5% which means the same loss in luminosity. Has this effect always been at around the 5% mark?
Re: 5% loss on rampup?
No that shouldn't be happening but their primary objective is delivering luminosity so whatever doesn't completely stop them from that will get polished on the fly.
Re: 5% loss on rampup?
Now at 5.5/nb/s and losses during ramp-up barely visible which is great news.
Re: 5% loss on rampup?
They are using tighter collimator settings this year, so loss is more sensitive to the transverse beam size. Latest fills seem to behave better, I believe there were some issues with the injectors after last TS.
