That's it for Protons.
Atlas has 5.506 fb-1 and CMS 5.602 fb-1.
Onward to IONs!

Interesting that they might try Protons on Ions in 2012.

LHC Proton Physics runs for 2011 now complete.

They still plan some more proton physics until sunday afternoon

Unlikely with the cryogenics failing and putting things back.PhilG wrote:They still plan some more proton physics until sunday afternoon
I wonder if there will be a report on this year's progress?
In paticular, it would be interesting to see how many days need to be put aside for 90m physics, as well as what the Hubner factor turned out to be in the end.
Re: LHC Proton Physics runs for 2011 now complete.
There is one more proton physics run in progress now, possibly the last this year.
For detailed summaries look our for EVIAN 2011 Beam Operation Workshop http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceOtherVi ... fId=155520
Mike Lamont will also be delivering the John Adams Lecture on 18th November, LHC - Bold Beginning

I've no idea if these will be webcast but fingers crossed.

According to today's meeting minutes they're considering proton-lead physics. I guess it means one beam protons and other beam lead nuclei but I really wonder if it will work and what will it do. There will be large disproportion in collision energies, I guess a lot of collision mass will be escaping along the beam trajectory.

Well yes I jumped the gun there but they are done now with maybe another 75 pb-1 collected in two short runs.
Good luck with the IONS.
