Looking at the news for today, the team suggest:
Assuming that we get 3 ½ more good weeks + 1+ week for 90 m, floating MD etc
We can reach 5 fb-1 for ATLAS/CMS, > 1 fb-1 for LHCb
Which suggests that proton physics right to the end of the remaining 6 weeks isn't a priority.
So does proton physics end around October 20th, or is the priority to get 5/fb right to the end of October if need be?
When does proton physics end?

You can see the latest schedule here:

There's even copy of the schedule on slide 7 of today's meeting minutes where they suggest they might be able to collect 5/fb this year.
Re: When does proton physics end?
Doesn't this suggest that they're only looking at another 3.5 weeks of integrated luminosity runs, with the remaining 1.5 for floating MD and 90m optics?Kasuha wrote:There's even copy of the schedule on slide 7 of today's meeting minutes where they suggest they might be able to collect 5/fb this year.

Re: When does proton physics end?
Yes it does seem to. They have 3.5/fb-1 now and have been getting 0.45/fb-1 a week since the last stop so that schedule seems right on target.jmc2000 wrote:Doesn't this suggest that they're only looking at another 3.5 weeks of integrated luminosity runs, with the remaining 1.5 for floating MD and 90m optics?Kasuha wrote:There's even copy of the schedule on slide 7 of today's meeting minutes where they suggest they might be able to collect 5/fb this year.
