Hey

Post by detschel » Mon Dec 06, 2010 4:56 am

Hi,
Just joined, I am not a physicist nor do I play one on TV, but I am curious and interested in the related subjects of quantum physics, discovery of new particles, the search for a unified theory, string theory, and other things I only vaguely understand. My daughter is a physicist (somehow I inspired her to this calling which I am very proud of) and I do enjoy talking to her about these subjects and others, but generally in our discussions she leaves me in the dust.

By training I am an electrical engineer many years ago but have spent the majority of my career in the IT business.

Welcome aboard!
There's quite a mix of people here, ranging from people who just have an interest to physics students and a bit of everything really.
Have a look around, ask questions and enjoy!
