Ivan, you didn't answer my question -
You thought the blue spiral in Norway was a magnetic hole but it turned out you were wrong.
It was hypothesis. I did not say about my value of confidence in that. And more, I thought that it was a trick made by anti CERN people.
So you thought it was a trick but decided it could be useful to push your agenda
and stir up fear with your "magnetic wasp" comment.
MagneticTrap wrote: But now in these two cases: 1. the theory of magnetic hole; 2. crude errors in CERN safety documents; I can here only: “you are lunatic”, “you are an idiot” and so on. But those are not the scientific arguments.
Well, what did you expect if you behave like shown above.
Given the fact that you never delivered any scientific argument you are not
in a position to demand them.
MagneticTrap wrote: No, I am usual physicists. May be I am more eccentric as others, because all my life I developed alternative cosmology and space physics.

There is no such thing as an "independent researcher",
in this context the term it is more likely to be synonym with
"a guy who pulls his theories out of his ass".
MagneticTrap wrote: Bigbangers will not let me work in science, because the contemporary science is a religious dogma.
No it is the exact opposite!

There have been always times when scientists are laughed at for their new,
at that time somewhat strange theories. But in the end the ones that explained
the world more, or better became accepted. They were build to describe
observable things that did not fit with the existing models, and made
predictions of things that could be later verified by experiment.

The ones that were false and disproven have shown very often that they came
up with things that complicated more than they explained (look up Occam's Razor).

So when you come up with "magnetic holes" and "wasps" which explains nothing
better than existing theories, in fact you turn science upside down:
MagneticTrap wrote:
1. How did you even come up with this idea?
In September 2008, after I learned about fighting around the collider, I tried to investigate microscopic objects connected by magnetic forces and received them almost at once.
So you first heard about concerns about the LHC and then you searched for some
scenario that would explain it. And because the previous "End of the world" bullshit
was debunked you needed a new one and "invented" (aka pulled out of your ass)
the "magnetic hole".
That's not science, that is fear mongering.

I am oh so proud of creating a forum where everyone can freely express themselves :)

Magnetic trap. PLEASE answer the question below with a number.

What are the odds of a single proton/proton collision at 7TeV causing a colaptical calamity ? ? Thats 1 individual proton hitting another single proton with a combined 7TeV center of mass collision energy ?

I understand its very small, but I need a exact number please.

I'd be interested in knowing the odds of finding the word 'colaptical' in an English dictionary.

I enjoyed using it. I will add it to the http://www.urbandictionary.com/ where it belongs

Was Ivan arrested, or has he finally given up on his theory? He still hasn't addressed my very long post.
MagneticTrap wrote: A. CERN’s answer: 10^18.
I finally realized what calculation he's referring to. Basically, the production of magnetic monopoles is excluded by cosmic rays. On top of that, CERN gave additional arguments to the safety from those monopoles (very similar to the way they did with black holes):
1. First, those kind of monopoles have to be possible in the first place.
2. Nucleon decay by these magnetic holes is only possible in certain speculative theories.
3. Even if the above apply, those magnetic holes are way too heavy to be produced at LHC.
4. Even if somehow light proton eating magnetic monopole was created, it would destroy 10^18 nucleons before leaving the earth.

I think those are solid arguments. Either way, these arguments refer to magnetic monopoles, and not magnetic traps of the devil. Therefore I don't see why he keeps bringing this up.

Even if the production of magnetic traps of the devil are not possible, the production of magnetic craps of the devil actually are ...

It's been a whole week since Ivan posted. Does he plan a bigger fear mongering theory, or has he completely gave up on his efforts to stop the LHC? Who is going to save our world now? :confusion-scratchheadblue:

I have a feeling he will be back................. maybe we should all wish him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year so he knows he is loved like   :wtf: :lolno:

maybe he fell down a magnetic hole just to help us understand they do exist ? :obscene-tolietclaw:

MERRY CHRISTMAS IVAN

Maybe Ivan went to spend time with his family :)

Maybe all those letters to his government + his press coverage finally got him the attention he so craved and they came and took away his computer ?

Bad Ivan :violence-smack:

That's actually a probability I considered seriousely. He was already interrogated by the police one time, so maybe he was arrested?

Ivan has mentioned he has kids. I wonder if he talks about his doomsday theories to them? :sad-pacing:
