Re: Alice having difficulties?

Maybe Alice is not so interested in Proton-Proton-collissions. Alice is mainly desinged to detect heavy-ion-colissions. Maybe they used early cproton-proton only for calibratin and are already making preparations for heavy-ion-collissions planned end of summer. I am only guessing, but that Alice is ...

Re: Vancouver interpretation of quantum mechanics

Thanks all :) but now we shuold give it a try: besides that the text and formulation doesnt apear very professional, is there any aproach how to proof or disproof such an interpretation? I could just add another in my eyes unproofable model: my conciousness is the only thing what really exists all o...

Re: Vancouver interpretation of quantum mechanics

I mooved this to controversial topics, because this is a totally new interpretation, evenso its found at some places in the internet it seems to be introduced always only by the same person and is hardly commented by others. That doesnt mean that it has to be generally wrong, it seems to controversi...

Re: Current Events Discussion

@jmayes: the scale containing the 9e11 is not for the ramping, the scale for the ramp is the one at the left side going up to 3.5TeV. The intensity which the left scale with the 9e11 is referring to is only changed in steps, so called bunches so the intensity graph looks like steps of a stairs durin...

Do you have the math for that?
At least it is not trivial.

Re: LHC beta* 3.5 metres

But it also shows that the beta doesn't necessarily say anything about the real concentration of protons at the colissionpoint rather about the angle they collide in. But I still belive that there is some relationship which makes beta something like a good guess for the proton-densety at the collisi...

Re: Maybe dark matter and energy don't exist after all

That reminds me of the decades people belived in Popeye and the unusual high concentration of health iron in spinach which olny later turned out to be an error in the method the ironconcentration was measured.
