Still thanks JNW for that detailed breakdown

want slow? check out the bbc: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8556621.stm guess they wanna keep it in the news help boost figures i guess. Interesting bit of info they changed the headline last night, it was labled "LHC to shut down 2011 to address safety concerns" as if its refering to th...

Re: ** Current Events and discussion **
Ok thanks for that,
So am I right in thinking there wont be any "new record" energy collisions before the end of march?
All i can see is ramps and testing with some 900 gev Collisions which im assuming is to fine tune the experiments?.

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.
Isn't there any way to prove his calculations wrong, as well as his claims about strangelets and "ferromagnetic vacuum"? I would not bet any serious money on Ivan not inventing his own terminology . arXiv:hep-lat/9210028v1 The Savvidy “ferromagnetic vacuum” in three-dimensional lattice gauge theory...

wow that was nice of him, anyone that takes the time to do this clearly has nothing to hideStephen wrote: I talked to John Ellis on the phone, and he took half an hour to answer all of my dumb questions without avoiding the point.

Re: ** Current Events and discussion **
a standard quench should only have a knock on affect for like 4hours, but its not understood why this happened, so im guessing they wanna do all the checks to why how when etc before giving the go ahead for beams

well as the basis is totally flawed why would the rest of it (upon which it is based) be correct?.

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.
to quote somewhere else which was posted a long time ago... Essentially what this guy is doing is pulling equations out of his anal orifice and claiming they are relevant. For example his formula pB=mc^2. Apart from the fact that mc^2 is only relevant when particles are at rest, the magnetic field w...

mmm Tau I can totally understand why you made this thread, its very tiresome having to answer things that dont make any sense day in day out, (or even have to go thro it all to read someting of interest) but well he will never stop, it will just slowly change to something else once not realised, Iva...

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.
upon reading a nice article that rcl posted (see: http://www.lhcportal.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=323&start=30) I found the section 10.7 interesting, given that i thought the possibility of mbh creations was well, way out there, im surprised that they discuss this in such detail, and with the pre...

Ivan, you are just about to get banned and pretty much done. Beast, you are done. On Ivan I mean in a passive way, over time, as in inching closer. And for Beast I mean in an active way. And thus another thread comes to its predicted conclusion. Ivan isn't banned, but close. Only in the future we w...

There is no doubt there are valid questions about the LHC and future colliders, but these guys really dont wanna learn.
And i dont personally like to associate myself to ppl that email bin laden to bomb a science complex.
