Re: 2012 Events Discussion
CMS delivered already the first inverse ubarn of integrated luminosity for 2012 this morning. Also LHCb delivered 200 inverse nbarn ALICE doesnt seem to be so exited about proton-collissions anymore and is rather idle. But why isnt ATLAS doing anything evenso its status says physics? Or is this only...

Re: 2012 Events Discussion
Somehow they repeatedly lose the beam because of resonance-problems, in the dashboard it appears that the tune feedbacksignal gets too high. Has anyone here an idea why they cannot solve this problem? Its like they fight a new behaviour of the accelerator, maybe new because of the higher energy (4Te...

Re: 2012 Events Discussion
CMS seems to be the first experiment what already shows live-events this year but on a new URL: http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/B40tvs/live_event.html the one in the portal leads to errormessage

Looks like they are not far from a circular beam now again.

Re: 2012 Events Discussion
but most likely only ramping magnets without beam or why is there no beam intensity visible?
Would make sence to try the magnets first without beam evenso the unit TeV would be missleading, probably they only mean the magnetstrength the later have to use for the mentioned beamenergy (TeV).

Re: Question for the smart people.
Evenso tswsl1989 already said the same thing I want to put it in simpler even simpler words omce more: 1. Nobody belives that colissions of Protons were involved in the early big bang. 2. the protons and the colissions of them are rater a tool which allos us the first time with the tecnical means av...

Re: Possible LHC convention!!!!
Sounds also interesting to me, fr to mo sounds reasonable. since I live not so far away from the LHC the original location would be fvoured by me, but I could consider also others eithin the same range.
Sounds interesting but am not sure if I could make it because of money and familyissues.

Re: Search for microscopic black holes signatures at the LHC
The last that I want to do is to start scaring people here again, but as far as I understood the only couldnt find signatures of the decay of micro-black-holes. In case there were the reall scary micro-black-holes which wouldnt decay then the would also not be found by this detector or would ther be...
