Re: *** Breaking news ***

Hello LHC_insider, I am also glad to have you here. At the moment I have one important question abut my understanding of what is going on there: Is my understanding correct when I think of the solenoids of the experiments as a track switch which deflects the beam wether on a track to bypass the expe...

Re: Creating "Sparks"

Regarding the "most goes through" and some is blocked by magnetism, solarwind and athmosphere: Whath goes through are minly Neutrinos and other strange particles which barely interact with normal matter and esspecially our body, so it doesn't affect us. That is also what they are searching with thee...

I have to try to take a look at this, but I never heard about this series here in Germany before.

Re: Portal links changes

I understand that employees of CERN are not allowed to anser just any kind of questions, but when they make a webpage open to the public like "page1" then there should be no reason not to explain at least the meaning of the things and words shown there. In my opinion they wether have no time to expl...

Re: ADs

I did not imagine that a forum with such a smallnumber of registered users would attract so many guests in one day. But I guess that is due to the controversial and interesting topic and the prominent URL. Unfortunately I can't help you anymor with performance-problems in this higher region, evenso ...

Re: Next generation of collider to replace the LHC

The LHC took about 20 years from the first plans until now but the main experiments of the LEP were only about 15 years ago.
So that is onlynrmal to think already about the next step.

Re: Creating "Sparks"

As far as I understand particels never become or behave like pure energy, but for the collider experiments the particles do not semm to matter, theyare only carriers of the huge amount of energy which has to be focused at verysmall space. Thats why for most questions it doesn't really matter if you ...

Re: CERN Cows and strong magnets

I already mentioned that I did not read the whole article (I actually only read 5 pages including the first 2 pages and the last) that seemed to be enough for me to see that there is no proof.
Besides that I never print texts comming from the internet only to read them.

Re: CERN Cows and strong magnets

This article seems to be somewhat esoteric, especially when he writes that the soul woud be drawn to the postulated anti-gravity-gun and that with the soul also god would die. Sounds not veryreasonable to me. Also the idea to explain the gravity onlyby a magnetic field coming from electronsand their...

Re: *** Breaking news ****

It is useless to discuss the black hole stuff at this moment. First of all the energy was far too low until now (they not even uste the power of the LHC but only collided the protons with the energy they got from the injection chain, so nothing new by now). And even if thewould have produced a stabl...

About me

Hello, I was following the cooldown and powerup of the LHC for about 2 month on the official webpages of the hardware-commissioning. When there were no changes anymore I was loking for newinformation sources and found this portal & forum besides the official page of the beam-comminssioning and made ...

Re: automatic login seems not to function with IE6

Yes, it seems to be OK here too.

I mean 3333 registered users, but only about 150 show up during one day, the maximum was 451 in one day and 78 at the same time.
