What do we mean by cross-section, integrated luminosity and inverse femtobarn in High Energy physics?
What does it mean to say, LHC will operate at 10inverse femtobarn?

i know CMS stands for compact muon solenoid and not any other blah blah blah....

i m very new to use CMSSW. I have to use CMSSW_3_3_6. I don't have sufficient pythia background but have sound c++ programming ability. I have seen CMSSW official tutorial. but that is too technical. Is there any simpler explanation to use aforementioned software.

When we say polarization, what does it mean? What's its advantage?
What is W boson polarization? What information do we get studying it?
