Re: 2022 Operation

Yes the last two day have seen some consistent run times. Still some work on general lost over time. Seems to be staying up should start seeing some early results.

Schedule for 2020

Have not seen anything on the 2020 schedule on the coordination page. The long term schedule indicates we will be starting up again the first of the year

Thank You

Re: 2018 Operation

Yes I have posted on this subject a few time. The factor that some people miss is that it also depend on how long you can expect to stay in stable beam if you restart. The simple formula that models Lumi vs time, Stable Bean time, and turn around time is not the best you can becauve of early un-plan...

Re: Why Xe run

Thank you Larry s and dukwon. Would of helped if we has access to the morning report. It was great reading and served to build support for the LHC. Having worked on the space program, we learned that the more information you provide the public the more support you get.

Why Xe run

Have not been able to find any documentation on why they are doing the Xe run. If someone out there could point me to some documentation or has some info it would be appreciated.

Re: What are the current records for LHC fills?

As I pointed out in another post the optimal time formula only works if you can alwasy run that long. You must take in account short runs. 1 Used the actual data for runs over 2040 bunches from https://acc-stats.web.cern.ch/acc-stats/#lhc/super-table fills 4976 to 5068 2 Build a curve fit for atlas ...

Re: How can the intensity be increased?

I always wondered why the actual time should not be longer then the number given by 7.1.2 Optimization of integrated luminosity. I seams that you need to know what the probability that you will actually run that long on the next run if you dump this run. I f you have a good chance of only running an...

Re: 2014 machine commissioning and 2015 start up

Looks like they are making some progress now still slow. About 20 amps per test. About 400 amps to go.
Looks like we might be at this for several more days.

Re: 2012 Events Discussion

Check the LHCb log and those chnages luminosity seem to line up with LHCadjusting the Beam.
