Re: 2017 Operation

Where did you see that? In the morning meeting slides they described 16L2 as "waking up", presumably meaning losses there are starting to be a problem again.

Re: Why Xe run

1. It's available because NA61 is doing a xenon run (they've previously done argon and beryllium)

2. By colliding different types of ion, you can measure the "system-size" dependence of various properties of quark-gluon plasma. See e.g. https://arxiv.org/abs/1301.6633

It should be noted that the figure of 2448...

Re: 2017 Operation

2460b is not the maximum. We have seen 2820b already this year, albeit for scrubbing, and I believe the intensity ramp will end at 2556b (due to BCMS?).

Today's morning meeting slides are mostly about the losses at 16L2.

If you want daily summaries, hang around in the IRC channel.

Re: 2017 Operation

12b trains pushed back to maybe tomorrow. Tentative plan is 3x3 stable beams on Saturday night and a few nights next week. Intensity ramp might start the week after.
Has anyone heard if scrubbing will go ahead?

Re: 2017 Operation

LHCb is starting night shifts on Saturday in anticipation of possible stable beams this weekend. I gather the other experiments have been doing night shifts for weeks already out of some sort of sense of masochism.

Re: Where's the link to LHC morning meeting documentation?

This makes me wonder whether this category (6386 from a Google search) has been mistakenly given over to ownership by LHCb instead of some wider LHC Operations Group? I cannot think of a reason why LHCb as opposed to any of the other experiments should own this collection of meeting minutes. The LH...

Re: Where's the link to LHC morning meeting documentation?

Can I please suggest that people don't contact Indico support about this, as it's clearly not an issue with Indico. This seems to be a decision made by someone in BE-OP-LHC.

Re: Where's the link to LHC morning meeting documentation?

There's not much point in re-hosting the slides. If BE-OP would grant permission for the slides to be public, they would also just make the category public. I think it's best if we ask for read permissions for invited-op-elogbook-users. It's quite likely that whoever set it to restricted doesn't kno...

Re: Where's the link to LHC morning meeting documentation?

Can someone in the invited-op-elogbook-users egroup confirm whether or not they have access to the morning meeting indico category?
