Re: all constants since the big bang are variable ... evolving

i have a constant that has a value of 423.522 in a vacuum... sometime in the past this constant had a value of 420.215 in a vacuum. my current understanding of this value and what i was fed, leds me to believe that this has been a constant since the beginning of time these constants are probably as ...

Re: Daily Schedules and Hiccups

not to sound pessimistic... but i wonder if electrical issues are going to be a recurring theme. I mean this thing needs a lot of juice and there are a lot of connections along with micronic resistance tolerances. It really is mind boggling how many things have to work together in order for this clo...

I know. Going on the LHC latest news reads like a best selling love/hate drama. 00:00-02:30: Four bunch setup. a) 1.5e10 p in beam1 in 4 bunches. Fully protected machine. 25h beam lifetime. Correctly dumped. b) At 01:32: Two beams with each 4 bunches stored. B1: 1.4e10. B2: 1.5e10. c) Dump tests sho...

Re: Underground webcams

I got more news about that. I asked a friend working on beam dumps and collimator. About beam dump, as it makes the material going from a low temparature to a high one, it deforms the metal. The chock wave can bounce back several times. Thus, when it meet air it produces sound. He has to check for ...
