Much of the US is less densly populated than Europe. The land (and airspace) down-wind of Mt St Helens isn't nearly so busy.Kasuha wrote:At distance large enough the only thing you can see is lack of airplanes on the sky.
I wonder, when St. Helen erupted, was all America without flying too?

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.
There's nothing like macro scale negative entropy. It was such a warm sunny day today! I decided to take advantage of it... I did an experiment. My wood stove consistently reaches temperatures above 600C. I wanted to see what would happen if I brought the residue from that inferno back up to temper...

... so maybe LHC will tap into some kind of macro scale negative entropy. I bet she will. And it seems your justification for this belief is the fact that mosquitos cause disease. Not sure why, but all this reminds me a little of this monty python scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3jt5ibfRzw

Re: Several biggest errors of particle physicists.
Expecting this to appear spontaneously is like waiting till chaotic motion of molecules in your legs will send you flying. The unbelievable tiny sting of a mosquito can give you spontaneously an infection that will give you cold fever, progressing extremely rapidly and cause death within hours or d...

Re: ** Current Events and discussion **
Ramp to 3.5TeV with no beams means the magnets were brought up to the required power levels to circulate particles at 3.5 TeV, but there were no particles actually in there circulating. They're taking it a step at a time...

Re: *** COLLISION ALERT ***
At least four bunches per beam again. (maybe they can change the intensity scale on the op display at some point.) collisions now?

Re: *** COLLISION ALERT ***
So, anyone know it those ATLAS displays in the anycast are live, or are they replaying collisions from earlier?
